Warm-up activity: Flash Card
Students will be divided into several groups to compete. The teacher will show cards with photo about the traditions of the Spring Festival. Each group needs to answer the meaning of these cards. In the end, the teacher chooses the winning group.
Activity 1: Discussion
Students share their essays about their most unforgettable experiences at the Spring Festival in a small group. And each group needs to choose a reporter to present their experiences.

After reading the texts below, students need to fill in the following table and discuss in groups.

Then, students will share their information about this question. One students need to report in class. After that, students can make a conclusion that the meaning of Spring Festival is the spirit of Family.

2. Students should search information about Christmas on the Internet. Take some notes on their notebook, and share with their deskmates before the next class.





Hi, beijia, I really like the activity of flash card. Colorful pictures must motivate students' interest. But activity 2 may make students feel a little difficult. Because they need to read three passages at the same time. It may be better to do an information gap activity according to two passages. If students just read three passages, it's a little boring for them. At the same time, it's easy for them to lose their attention.
